Need a group use license for music?

At present, my music is not registered with OneLicense or CCLI. I'm new to music publishing, but hope to get there eventually. If you'd like to use a song of mine in your congregation or organization, please purchase a license. Thank you for making it possible for me to make more music for a more accessible world!

But...why do I need this? I purchased the sheet music.

Great question. Also: thank you for asking.
When you purchase sheet music from me, you're welcome to make one copy, like for rehearsal, or to hand to your accompanist fifteen minutes before worship so they can experience the same adrenaline you do every Sunday.
Here's where the boring-but-important part comes in: copyright is, as the name suggests, the right to copy. Unless you're the publisher (hi, that's me), you don't have that right automatically. So if you're thinking, "Wouldn't it be nice if I made 30 copies for the choir?" — first of all, look at you with a 30-person choir, that's amazing, can I visit? — you'll need a license first.

A license is simply official permission. My blessing, if you will — and I do mean that both legally and pastorally. It honors the time, skill, and considerable amounts of coffee that go into writing this music. And honestly, it's about doing things with integrity. The fact that you're here reading this paragraph instead of just printing 30 copies tells me that matters to you. So: thank you.
Thank you for attending to this somewhat boring piece of freelance business. It's not boring to me — it's genuinely part of how I keep creating, but I know it's not the most exciting reason to visit a website. I'm grateful for your partnership in this work.
