Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement for Jacob Nault
Accessibility isn't an afterthought here — it's part of what this site is for. My work in disability ministry and advocacy means I have a stake in making sure this space is genuinely usable for as many people as possible, not just technically compliant on paper.
Where things stand
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the current standard for accessible web content. Right now, it's partially conformant, meaning most of the site meets that bar, but not all of it does yet. I'm actively working on the gaps.
Known limitations
-
Color contrast — Some foreground text doesn't meet contrast requirements in a few areas, a design issue I'm currently working through with my web designer using Wix's accessibility checklist. In the meantime, the Tabnav accessibility menu (look for the icon on the site) lets you adjust contrast and other display settings to fit your needs.
-
Video player — Some embedded videos aren't fully accessible due to limitations in Wix's YouTube element. I'm in the process of switching to a more accessible player. Most videos are also available directly on my YouTube channel, or you can click the YouTube button on any video to open it there.
What I'm doing about it
-
Accessibility is built into how I evaluate and update this site over time.
-
I draw on my own lived experience with disability, as well as feedback from colleagues in disability advocacy spaces, to inform improvements.
-
The site includes an accessibility menu by Tabnav to give users direct control over their experience.
